2020 PaddyFest Performers
Minimal
Minimal brings an eclectic and versatile mix of indie and alternative rock with electronic flirtations embodied in drum machines, sequencers and samplers. The band, described by the Miami New Times as “the tastiest bitter-sweet candy for fans of wall-flower angst electropop,” is an international project of musicians from Colombia, Peru, and Nicaragua who met in the U.S. but continue to produce and perform across international borders.
The Tooles
The Tooles are a three-piece band based out of Madison, Wisconsin. Amy on fiddle. Lee playing guitar and bass. Kurt thumping on bodhran and guitar, but not at the same time.
Everybody sings. Loudly.
Rare Privilege
Rare Privilege features Maria Terres on fiddle and Amy McFarland on piano. Their music has often been described as “way more sound than we ever though two instruments could make.” Devotion to their individual instruments, a sense of innovation, and a deep love and respect for the living tradition of folk music and dance combine to give their music an imaginative and lyrical energy and drive. Rare Privilege plays for New England Style Contra Dancing, Irish and Scottish Social Dancing, English Country Dancing, and many other traditional dance styles. Based in Wisconsin, we have performed throughout the US and also in Canada.
Trinadora
What happens when a classically trained musician crosses paths with a roots-music maven? The answer is ‘Trinadora.’
We season our vocals with keyboard, ocarina, concertina, harmonica, and guitar accompaniment.
Emerald Wind Music
Emily and MaryKathleen are sisters in family and music. From an early age, their bond with each other and their love of music brought life to all around them. Years of consistent training and performing have refined their skills and passion for making music together. With Emily on the flute, and MaryKathleen on the harp, the two combined bring all listeners to experience the beauty and serenity of “Emerald Wind Music“.
Danny’s Gone Rogue
Danny grew up in a first generation Irish American family influenced by the songs and attitudes of his Irish relatives. Proud of his heritage he learned not only the traditional Irish tunes he had heard growing up, he embraced the new Irish and Celtic music being introduced into the American music scene.
