The Noble Call Christmas show takes audiences back to the ‘hearth’ of an Irish Christmas, filled with songs, stories, rousing music and traditional Irish dancing. The Noble Call is that age-old Irish tradition, where, in the ‘wee’ small hours of the morning when everyone gets a chance to sing a song or tell a story. This Noble Call tradition is very popular at Christmas time in Ireland, as families gather together to welcome home their sons and daughters from distant shores and to share in the festivities.
This special night will feature Brian Cunningham known as the Michael Flatley ofSean-Nos style Irish Dance. Hailing from Connemara, Brian is the most exciting sean-nós or ‘old-style’ dancer to have emerged from Ireland. At 31 years of age, he has won all the major dance competitions in Ireland. This is the second trip to Rockford for Paddy and the first for “The Noble Call”. Irish Music Magazine describes the group as “Something a lot of people have been waiting for a long time to hear. Joined by Mick Broderick and a group of superior musicians, Paddy Homan sings his way through the best of real Irish music in a total package. Really, this group has everything. Best of all, they really know how to deliver in a concert. The Noble Call is here, and we hear them calling! Wow!”
